Mike has been active in the real estate industry since the 1960’s. A life long resident of Chicago. During the 33 years of partnership with William, John, and B.J. Vranas he was involved in over 3,000,000 Square feet of commercial/industrial, and almost 3,000 residential apartments. Through the years has worked to improve the Residential Landlord Tennant Ordinance, the Chicago Zoning Code, the Chicago Building Department Inspection and Permit areas, Assessors Office, and Community Policing and Safety. He is a Past President of the Board of Directors of The Union League Club, and a member of the Board of The City of Chicago Low Income Housing Trust Fund from 1996 to 2011. He is a Past President and active Board Member of the Boys & Girls Foundation of the Union League which helps keep 13,000 children a year off the streets of Chicago and is proud to point to a 97% high school graduation rate, a zero percent pregnancy rate and a zero percent criminal conviction rate of the children attending the clubs. A Life Trustee of the Civic and Arts Foundation, he is Past President and founder of the Edgewater Uptown Builders Association, The Hellenic Foundation, also Past Vice President of the Lincoln Park Builders Club. He is one of the founding directors of the Neighborhood Building Owners Alliance which is the organization made up of the major builders clubs in Chicago. A past member of the State’s Attorney’s Narcotic Nuisance Abatement Advisory Council, he is a graduate of the Chicago Public School System and has a BA from Elmhurst College. He has had a real estate license since 1971,and during breaks in college worked in the renovation and maintenance of buildings which gives him a total of over 4 decades of experience at every level of real estate operation and ownership. Ten years ago Mike was inducted into the Chicago area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame.
